Cooking With Love: Savoring A Legacy of Love

I wasn’t expecting to write a book about my life, or to follow it up with this cookbook. I wasn’t expecting to share my culinary skills or my love for the kitchen, both of which are gifts my mother, Alma Rosa, bestowed upon me. I wasn’t expecting God to use my story and my love for cooking to minister to women who are hurting, to help set them free from bondage and to encourage them towards a new life—and hope—in Jesus Christ.I put this cookbook together as a way to remember my mother and her amazing cooking and baking skills. More than that, though, I want to inspire in you a love for the kitchen. It’s never too late to learn.Tables are the most important places of connection in life. As often as we come, we sit down “together.” I’m convinced that in this always-on-the-go, digitally distracted culture we live in today, one of the disciplines we need to recover most is a return to sitting down and sharing meals around the table. Being able to cook and bake and share the meals and treats you’ve created with others provides a wonderful opportunity for meaningful connection and conversation. Sitting down to the table together offers a safe environment to share life’s burdens and life’s joys.I hope you enjoy every bite of the treats and dishes I’ve included in this cookbook.
