The HEATIT HIRD roof de-icing cable is designed to prevent ice buildup, known as ice dams, from forming on roofs, in gutters, and downspouts. When properly installed, it creates a path for melted snow and ice to drain from the roof to the ground.

Features:
* CSA and ETL Certified: Ensures superior quality and safety, meeting stringent industry benchmarks.
* Pre-assembled: Includes a 6 ft 18/3 cold lead with plug, clips, and spacers for easy DIY installation.
* Durable Construction: Features tough XLPE inner insulation and weather-resistant PVC (high-low temperature) outer jacket.
* Enhanced Safety: 100% screen rate with aluminum foil and tinned copper braid for safety and stability.
* Industrial Grade: Utilizes industrial-grade heat shrinkage tube technology for durable connections.
* Quality Manufacturing: Produced in an ISO9001 standard factory with strict quality control processes.

Recommended Use:
* Metal or plastic gutters and downspouts
* Inclined roofs
* Roofs with noncombustible shingles (e.g., asphalt shingles) that meet national building codes

Do NOT Use On:
* Roofs with wooden shingles, rubber or rubber membrane roofs, composite (tar and gravel) roofs
* Wooden gutters or downspouts, flat roofs
* Slate, stone, metal, and ceramic roofs (unless specific installation or self-regulating cable is used)

Installation Note: Always uncoil the heat cable completely and ensure it does not touch, cross over, or overlap itself before plugging it in. Test the cable by plugging it in for approximately 5 minutes; it should feel slightly warm to the touch, then unplug.
